Several things conspired to result in this trade: The Eagles were using Bradford as a 1 year placeholder once they drafted Carson Wentz with the 2nd pick of the 2016 draft. Having Bradford for this year allowed them to bring Wentz along slowly. The apparent intention was to trade Bradford after the season. The better Bradford played, the more valuable he would be. If he struggled or got hurt, they had both Daniels and Wentz backing him up. Bradford’s performance last year, especially over the last 8 games, was almost equal to Bridgewaters. The Eagles had already paid Bradford $11 million of his 2 year $36 mil contract. Wentz has impressed the coaching staff and his teammates with his progress and even with a rib injury, is apparently way ahead of the development schedule the Eagles expected. Teddy Bridgewater had a severe knee injury late in preseason. The Vikings are build around a great defense and a great running game. Consequently, they don’t need their QB to carry the team on his back. They need a QB that will protect the football and keep the opposing defense honest. The vikings, with Bridgewater, were a legitimate playoff team and a threat to potentially make it to the SB. Without Bridgewater, their upside was reduced. The vikings just moved into a brand new stadium and their fanbase was very excited to buy new Vikings Purple and White Rodeo Themed Shirts. Relying on a no-name QB really reduced the enthusiasm. Bradford’s QB coach at one time was Pat Shurmur, the TE coach of the Vikings. He apparently vouched for Bradfords intelligence, work ethic and capability & convinced the Vikings that he could learn Norv Turners offense quickly.

I think Cousins is more talented than a lot of other QB’s in this league. I just think he’s been in tough situations. The situation in Washington was tough – the up and down issues with RGIII. And just being in Washington is an issue with Daniel Snyder. Jay Gruden’s offense should have been great for him, and he wasn’t unsuccessful, but the team in general wasn’t great. In Minnesota, the offense has been better, and you see more fans wearing Vikings Purple and White Rodeo Themed Shirts with his name on them, but it hasn’t been consistently great. Some of that is on him, some on their overall approach. When they had a good defense, the offense was just marginal. Now the offense is better than marginal and the defense isn’t so great. Either way it leads to lack of wins.

No. It’s supposed to be the image of the classic Viking warrior: tough, square jawed, blonde, long hair & beard. Thor happens to be a Norse God and a patron deity to the Vikings… so he also looks like a Viking. Although if my memory serves me correctly, he is usually portrayed as being red-haired and red-bearded in mythology. Marvel went with blond hair (and lost the beard) when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced him to the Marvel Comics Universe. As an aside… the Minnesota Vikings were established in 1961 with that original logo that featured Vikings Purple and White Rodeo Themed Shirts with the long blonde hair, mustache and beard. Offensive line, hands down. Stopping teams has never really been a problem for the Vikings. We’ve had dominating defense always ranked in the top 5–10 for as long as I can remember. Our secondary defense last year was ranked either 1 or 2 in the league if I remember right. Mike Zimmer has been a pretty good coach overall, and the fact that our defensive coordinator has taken a head coaching position for another pro-team should speak volumes about the kind of coaching we have.
