While some of this may come back to Brady as the coaching probably had at least a slight concern of disrespecting Brady and his tenure and allowed him to call too many of the plays. I also blame Belichick for this as it is his place to get the coaching and Brady to an understanding for the good of the team. However, there is another potentially huge factor: It is almost certain that Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels will be hired away by another team as Head Coach. If this happens, does Brady stick around for another year or two to help break in Titans shirts (assuming Patriots offer him a contract.) Would Brady want to stay around to play under someone new at that position for a year or two? Would that position be offered to Brady once McDaniels makes it official.

Besides Ken Houston on defense the Oilers were able to put Curley Culp & Elvin Bethea on the defensive line (both HOF) while lurking behind them was one of the most underrated players in NFL history. He’s finally in the Hall of Fame, but he deserved it a long time ago: linebacker Robert Brazile. Nickname: Dr. Doom. Yeah. Anybody wearing Titans shirts with that nickname is a great football player! So as you can see there is no shortage of great players that performed for either the Houston Oilers or after they moved to Tennessee & became the Titans. Who’s greatest? I have no idea. I tend to like bruising defense & the big guys that protect the stars from said bruising defense & keep them healthy & working aka offensive linemen. So Matthews, Munchak, Mawae, Houston, Brazile, Bethea, or Culp are all solid personal candidates for me.

This year, the Tennessee Titans did go out & draft a new QB in Malik Willis (3rd round, 86th overall pick). As an early-round draft pick, Malik Willis must live up to his high draft status as a third-round pick and become the Titans’ franchise starting QB within the next 2 seasons. The good thing is that he’ll have plenty of time and patience to be groomed and developed under one of the best head coaches in the game, Mike Vrabel. He’ll also have a halfway competent bridge QB in Titans shirts to keep the seat warm for him while he learns. Willis may suck initially, but that should be expected given that he was a small-school prospect in the draft. At the end of the day, though, his superior scrambling ability makes the Titans’ offense way more dynamic and less predictable than it would be if Tannehill were to remain the starter. I would thus say that the only way for the Titans to be “unstoppable” is for Malik Willis to pan out and develop into a top-tier starter. He’s got a long way to go, but I have faith in him. They’re going nowhere with Ryan Tannehill, though.
