Byard and Henry aging like wine. Should have retired as Titans… I wish it would have been possible, but also glad that they’re getting to continue playing competitive football since that wouldn’t have been possible had they stayed here. The saved cap space from not paying Titans shirts like them will also be massive for the rebuild over the next several years. I think KB would have been if he was not traded.

I don’t know that anyone should be “afraid” of them, but the Kansas City Chiefs should certain respect them – they went into New England and won, they went into Baltimore and won, and I believe they beat Kansas City already in the regular season. Interesting thing about Tennessee vs. Kansas City for the AFC Championship; it’s a rematch of the battle of Texas 1962 AFL Championship game (known as a classic). That game featured the Dallas Texans in their last game as the Dallas Texans; they are now the Kansas City Chiefs. They found that they couldn’t go head-to-head with the Dallas Cowboys, even though up to that point they had been the more successful on-field team. On the other side of that game were the Houston Oilers, who remained the Houston Oilers through the 1996 season, and then became the Tennessee Oilers for just two seasons before changing their name to the Tennessee Titans and putting on Titans shirts for the first time. So this game is Tennessee vs. Missouri, but with Texas connections and history.

First of all, the Titans need to win this year’s Super Bowl to start that conversation. But with KC Chiefs and the 49ers looming on the horizon, I don’t see that happening. Now let’s look at the Titans’s roster. Only two Titans make the 1st or 2nd team All Pro: Punter Brett Kern and RB Derrick Henry. And they are also the only two players whose names appear on the back of Titans shirts at the Pro Bowl (there could more because of injury replacement). The Titans just don’t have enough good players to form a dynasty.
