I think Brees relishes the fact that despite only having one ring, and not being the “GOAT,” he will hold all the records and Brady won’t. Coach Jim Haslett was fired at the end of the season, and owner Tom Benson proposed to permanently relocate the team to San Antonio. (That move was later vetoed by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.) First-time head coach Sean Payton was hired by the Saints in early 2006, and he wanted Drew Brees as his quarterback.
