While Pittsburgh certainly has two developmental quarterback prospects on its roster in Trubisky and Pickett, and it’s possible that the latter in particular will eventually become a long-term starter, Hurts is now a proven player, which is preferable to guys who are still question marks. Claypool is a talented young receiver, a guy the size of a tight end who can still play as a legitimate wideout, and he would be an ideal building block on any offense.
