The “Panther” mascot has nothing to do with the local fauna of the Carolinas. Instead, it is the animal that most encompassed the team owner’s visions for the squad: “Powerful, Sleek, and Strong”. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, there’s a pretty obvious answer to this – namely that it all starts at the top! (or to put it another way, “the fish rots from the head”). That said though, there are a lot of holes to fill, starting with the O-line in front of Young (which was all too porous in 2023) and also finding a good rookie receiver or two (or a tight end) for him to throw to.
