Kareem Jackson started alongside Justin Simmons, combining to form the league’s best duo at the safety position. I’m with Charlie Cheever on this overall; Manning may have needed to be The Man, and in San Francisco, he would have had the expectations of a 13-3 team last year plus the Montana/Young ghosts to deal with.. so maybe that’s a reason he passed up a clearly better team to go to Denver. Manning’s deal is kind of interesting.
