Running Back: We went into the 2020 season with 3 running backs who were capable of handling a workhorse role: Melvin Gordon, Royce Freeman, and Phillip Lindsay. Each of these three running backs had a lot of up-and-down plays this year while donning their NFL Denver Broncos Spider Man Fan Hoodie. Gordon ended up being the most consistent, as he rushed for 986 yards & 9 touchdowns on 215 carries. But he also fumbled the ball four times and displayed a scary lack of field awareness for a veteran. 2018 third-round pick Royce Freeman entered his rookie year as our starting running back but has been outplayed by undrafted phenom Phillip Lindsay in each of his first three seasons. Freeman has been a total bust so far, and it didn’t help that he saw very little action this year as the third-string back behind Gordon and Lindsay. And as for Lindsay, he struggled with injuries after putting up two 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career. The Broncos do have 3 backs with starting experience, but they’re going to need far more consistency out of them, as they all come with their own flaws. Gordon fumbles too much. Freeman almost never fumbles, but he’s not explosive enough. And Lindsay, while very explosive and great as a ball-carrier, struggled with injuries.

Denver gets better. Seattle starts a rebuild. Wilson gets to go to a team that was on his acceptable trade list that gives him a chance to win and see his name on NFL Denver Broncos Spider Man Fan Hoodie during his remaining prime years. It’s a trade that works out. Seattle doesn’t see itself going anywhere and is focused on rebuilding. Denver sees an opportunity to throw their hat in the ring for contention in the AFC West.
