Several things conspired to result in this trade: The Eagles were using Bradford as a 1 year placeholder once they drafted Carson Wentz with the 2nd pick of the 2016 draft. Teddy Bridgewater had a severe knee injury late in preseason. The Vikings are build around a great defense and a great running game. Consequently, they don’t need their QB to carry the team on his back. They need a QB that will protect the football and keep the opposing defense honest. The vikings, with Bridgewater, were a legitimate playoff team and a threat to potentially make it to the SB. Without Bridgewater, their upside was reduced.
