The Chiefs were founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by AFL founder Lamar Hunt. The NFL also founded the Dallas Cowboys also in 1960 competing directly against the upstart AFL’s Texans. The Texans moved to Kansas City in 1963. Initially, Hunt wanted to keep the name “Texans” with the move, but found few if any that agreed with that, eventually leading to the creation of the iconic Kansas City Chiefs 3D All Over Print Hoodie we see today.
