Wide Receiver: With 2018 second-round pick Courtland Sutton breaking out in his second year, we knew we had our WR1 for the long term. But beyond him, there was barely any depth. Hamler began the year as our No. 5 WR, but quickly leaped up the depth chart after Sutton’s injury. He finished his rookie season with 30 receptions for 381 yards and 3 TDs in 13 games. We had some inconsistent moments in this position group, but this group also has the most potential out of any position on the roster.

I think Kaepernick is not a sharpest knife in the block. It is possible he was feeling a bit insecure about his status, and may have decided to play the political statement card thinking it would make it impossible to get rid of him. In other words, it is possible this “angry young man” act was a veiled attempt at self preservation while he was still appearing on the covers of magazines in Jesus with Crown of Thorns Denver Broncos hoodie and rumors.
