As a life long, third generation, Cleveland Browns fan, I have actually thought about this very question many times since 1995. I was at the last game in Cleveland before Art Model took our franchise to Baltimore….I have pictures with the countdown clock that was in Tower City mall that was counting down the days until the new Cleveland I’m The Problem Tour 2025 Morgan Wallen x Cleveland Football Hoodie debuted in Cleveland….I even owned a watch that had a countdown to the first game (it was useless after game one!) My all time FAVORITE NFL player EVER is Bernie Kosar! I was so happy when he finally made it to a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys; they even put him on the field in the fourth quarter over Troy Aikman to allow him some Super Bowl gametime….I think I teared up for him but deep down wished that the Browns could’ve gotten him that far in his career! The Cleveland Browns have never been the same to me since the franchise was moved to Baltimore. I got resentful when Bill Belachek took Baltimore to the Super Bowl year after year but COULD NOT DO IT ONCE FOR OUR FAITHFUL FANS IN CLEVELAND. I grew bitter about it and lost my love for the game. I was very pleased when we got a new team and that they chose to keep the old name for the team; anything other than the Cleveland Browns would’ve been blasphemy but no matter the name it still felt different somehow. During all this however, the one thing that took me off guard was that the Pittsburgh Steelers fans ALSO MISSED our team and were deeply saddened by their departure. I hadn’t expected that and because of their shared mutual sense of loss, I grew to respect the fans and team that I once loathed; I grew to respect and love the comradorie that we share…Pittsburgh wasn’t Pittsburgh without Cleveland and vice versa….football wasn’t football without the greatest rivalry in the league, therefore, at the time, I hated Baltimore for stealing that from both cities!
