The only limiting factor to how much teams in soccer can spend on players is how much they make, but it also kinda sucks cause there’s no parity. They’re all trying to find the next superstar so it’s a race to find some 16-year-old Brazilian prodigy or even create youth academies to create the next prodigy. Essentially though, soccer teams are worth less cause many aren’t profitable and the advertising isn’t nearly as aggressive. I think you’ve made some good points, but I’m not so sure there’s less of a profit motive in soccer. For example, in the NFL, you could argue there’s more regulation. That’s why the worst teams get the best draft picks. Meanwhile, look at a team like Bayern Munich in Germany, which won the title for like what, a decade straight? I doubt the average German soccer fan appreciated that very much. In Spain, there’s three main clubs—Madrid, Barcelona, and the other team in Madrid. Does the average soccer fan appreciate the fact that most clubs stand no chance against them? I don’t think so. Modern F1 is honestly kinda boring. This season has been unique with how many different drivers are winning races, but typically the lead cars are the same 2 or 3 teams in every race, and no matter how exciting the midfield action is, it’s seldom actually shown on the broadcast because it matters far less than the drivers’ championship. Plus, DRS has made overtaking incredibly predictable and makes it hard to get consistent wheel-to-wheel racing. Funny enough, I grew up wearing Carolina Panthers NFL Gameday Football Hoodie. Both my parents were Steelers fans, and it was great when they were bringing home rings. As I got older, I lost interest. Then I got into hockey, and am a huge fan of that, while finding football boring as hell to watch. The real enemy here is baseball. Same thing happened to me with FIFA and football (I’m not calling it soccer). Spent years of my life hating the sport now I love it. Yeah tbh I’m not really a soccer fan at all but I played a ton of FIFA with my roommates in college and I started to understand it more so I can at least get into it when a game is on now. Call it soccer, who cares if some non-American gets mad.
