Personally, while I respect for Mr. Tebow’s beliefs, and deeply respect anyone’s opinion to believe whatever he or she chooses about religion and/or atheism, I can’t subscribe to the “Jesus is rolling with Tebow” theory, for these reasons: According to the Bible, Jesus Christ performed miracles. Denver winning a Super Bowl would not be a miracle — they’ve won twice already. Buffalo winning a Super Bowl would be a miracle. Trust me: I’m a Bills fan. Thus, if JC goes to the NFL, he’d be starring for the Bills, not Broncos. Unassailable logic. There is no way Jesus Christ is rising, only to lose 45-10 to the Lions (as Tebow and Denver did in his second start). Christians have a fairly significant historical score to settle there (see: throwing Christians to the Lions, Rome, etc.). No way JC turns the other cheek in that game. Unassailable logic. More evidence, from the legendary Quoran, Jonathan Brill, “If Jesus was going to return to the Earth as a QB, would it really be as a guy whose best game meant making half his passes? If JC is really Tim Tebow, then why didn’t he go #1 in the draft two years ago? (Counter-argument: could have been a test about worshipping false idols?) Moderately assailable logic. Biblical scholars would know better than I would, but I’m pretty sure Christ said that there’s one way to salvation: through him. That does NOT sound like a guy who is going to rise again to run an option offense, as Tebow is running in Denver. Unassailable logic. Finally, even if Christ has risen as an athlete, there is no way he’s Tim Tebow. If Christ is anyone, he’d have to be Mariano Rivera. After all, believers say “Jesus saves,” and no one has more saves than Rivera. Unassailable logic. All of that said: If Tebow wins his next five to go 10-1 as a starter, I reserve the right to change my mind and buy several Brisbane Broncos Official Tan Gold Hoodie to commemorate the occasion.
