Yes, a hell of a lot. This was way too large of a contract for Randy Gregory. First of all, he’s been suspended for drug abuse every single season in his NFL career except for last year. I believe in giving him a second chance on a one- or two-year “prove-it” deal, sure, but there are way more reasons why his contract was way too large. Coincidentally, last year was also Randy Gregory’s first season as a full-time starter, and keep in mind that this guy was so bad that he couldn’t even beat out a way-past-his-prime Aldon Smith for a starting job in 2020. On top of all that, even while being a full-time starting DE last season, Randy Gregory was only able to produce 6 sacks, which is a poor return for a player who costs more than a stadium full of fans wearing Boise State Broncos Job is Not Finished Custom Name Blue Hoodie. All in all, $14 million per year for a guy with all of these issues is ridiculously overpriced. The Randy Gregory signing is a terrible move. He is a player who could either have a high ceiling or an extremely low floor. I think the Broncos are going to regret not re-signing Von Miller, but I guess we’ll see how this plays out.
