Overall, this team seems to be very well-rounded and explosive. My hunch is, SS Carlton Williamson would have waged an all-time, all-day running game war against RB Walter Payton.. and I like HOFer Sweetness in that matchup (no offense to Williamson, who was good, but Payton was an all-timer). I could also see CB Ronnie Lott getting heavily involved vs. Payton on outside runs, in a true clash of NFL Titans; it would be epic. My hunch is the Bears run for 150 here, throw for 125, control the clock, don’t turn the ball over, and keep their hellacious defense fresh to face Montana & Co. I thin Montana throws for 220; the Niners run for 50 yards; and it just isn’t enough.. although a late rally makes Chicago sweat. It’s a fun game, and it isn’t a blowout, but Chicago probably gets it done, by maybe 14-13. Walter Payton goes 28-122-1, game MVP. Game ends with Montana itching for one last shot, but Payton rushing for the first down behind Covert, icing the game and running out the clock. Put 49ers Puerto Rican Heritage NFL Hoodie on this Niners team, and the scales tip the other way.
